Fall Class Information 2011/span>

Fall classes begin Tuesday, September 6, 2011

We offer a variety of classes, focused on developing strong technical dance skills, as well as artistry and a love of dance. You'll find an array of ballet technique classes at all levels, plus ballet, jazz, tap, and lyrical classes where you'll learn technique and a number to be performed at our spring recital. We welcome new students and students who want to supplement their other dance classes with our technique training. Feel free to contact our studio with questions about which classes are appropriate for you and your dance goals.

Enrollment

Over the years, we have developed certain ground rules to sustain the high standard of excellence expected of our students. Enrollment constitues acceptance of these rules. Our dance season runs from September through May. We reserve the right to refuse entrance to any student who is or becomes a discipline problem. Placement in the class is at the discretion of the HDC staff. Hopkins Dance reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any class.

    Attendance and Progress

Consistent attendance is important for the student's progress as a dancer and for the progress of the class. Missed classes should be kept to a minimum and should be made up by attending a similar class at the same or a slightly lower level. Classes missed during vacation or cancelled due to snow or bad weather should be made up. If more than two consecutive lessons are missed without notice or make-up, the dancer's place in the class will not be held.

Each dance class follows a carefully planned sequence to properly warm up the dancer's body before advancing to more demanding movements. It is important for dancers to ARRIVE ON TIME for class and ready to dance. Constant tardiness will not be allowed.

Arriving on time and attending class regularly are important for the proper progress of the class as a whole. We enforce attendance rules for the benefit of the entire class. If you have any questions or concerns about the specific progress of your child, we will be happy to schedule an appointment with you. Please call the studio at 952-935-2794.

TROPHIES will be awarded to students 5 and 10 CONSECUTIVE years at Hopkins Dance Center. YOU are responsible for checking the box on the costume order form if a dancer is eligible for a trophy.
