About Us
Hopkins Dance Center has been educating young people and a few adventuresome adults in the art of dance for more than 15 years. We emphasize a strong foundation in dance technique, particularly ballet, for dancers at all levels. Our goal is to teach children to appreciate and master both the physical demands of dance and its artistry.
We offer basic and intermediate classes in ballet, jazz, and tap for those just starting their training and more rigorous dance training for more advanced, serious dancers. We keep our class sizes small and encourage our advanced dancers in the development of their own unique style.
For more advanced, committed dancers, we provide opportunities to compete in regional dance competitions, such as Showbiz National Talent Competition, American Dance Awards, and Showstopper Dance Competitions. Our competitive dance groups and our solo, duet, and trio performers are consistently among the tops scorers in these competitions. In addition, Hopkins Dance Center often receives special recognition for choreography and dance technique. We believe that strong technical training, including a minimum of two ballet technique classes per week for our top competitive dancers, is essential for any serious dancer.
We are currently accepting applications for summer classes and fall classes.
